Starting a conversation

Briefing

A briefing is the structured conversation where we learn about your organisation and you learn about our studio. It is not a pitch—it is a mutual assessment of whether the fit is right for the work you have in mind.

We do not use web forms on this site. To begin, write to [email protected] or call +65 6209 7315 during office hours. Include the information below so we can prepare thoughtfully for the conversation.

Preparation

What to share before we meet

The more context you provide upfront, the more useful our first conversation will be. You need not have every detail resolved—partial information is fine.

Checklist

Information that helps us prepare

  1. 01

    Organisation overview

What your organisation does, who it serves, and where it operates. A link to your website or a short paragraph is sufficient. We research before the call but appreciate your perspective.

  2. 02

    Campaign or project intent

What you hope to communicate, to whom, and by when. If the timeline is flexible, say so. If it is fixed, tell us the immovable date and we will assess feasibility honestly.

  3. 03

    Existing materials

Brand guidelines, previous campaign examples, audience research, or internal strategy documents. Share what you can under your confidentiality policies—we sign NDAs when required.

  4. 04

    Internal team structure

Who will be involved in approvals, who handles production internally, and who is the primary contact. Understanding your team shape informs our Workstyles recommendation.

  5. 05

    Constraints and sensitivities

Regulatory requirements, competitive considerations, budget boundaries, or topics that require careful handling. We prefer to know constraints early rather than discover them mid-project.

What happens during the briefing call

The initial conversation lasts approximately forty-five minutes. We ask clarifying questions, explain our process, and discuss which Workstyle might suit your needs. We do not present speculative creative work during this call—that comes after scope agreement.

By the end of the call, both parties should know whether to proceed. If the fit is mutual, we prepare a written proposal within five business days outlining scope, timeline, cadence, and fees. If the fit is not mutual, we say so directly and may suggest alternatives if we know them.

Briefings can happen in person at the Atelier, by video conference, or by telephone. We adapt to your preference and location.

No obligation

The briefing costs nothing

We do not charge for the initial briefing conversation. We also do not treat it as a sales exercise—there is no pressure to proceed. Our interest is in finding engagements where our craft and your needs align. If that alignment exists, the proposal will reflect it clearly.

After the proposal

If you accept the proposal, we issue a engagement letter confirming scope, fees, payment schedule, and intellectual property terms. Work begins on the agreed start date—not before. If you need time to secure internal approval, tell us; we hold proposed start dates for a reasonable period when capacity allows.

Questions about legal terms should be directed to Legal or raised with your own counsel. We are happy to discuss standard terms but do not provide legal advice.

Confidentiality during briefing

Information shared before engagement is treated as confidential regardless of whether a project proceeds. We do not reference your organisation, industry, or brief content in conversations with other clients. If your materials require an NDA before sharing, say so when you write—we sign standard mutual NDAs without delay.

Competitor conflicts are assessed at briefing stage. If we already serve a direct competitor in your sector, we will disclose that and discuss whether ethical walls or declination is appropriate. Transparency at this stage prevents problems later.

We occasionally decline briefings when the requested work falls outside our craft focus—performance media buying, software development, or work that asks us to misrepresent products. Declining early respects your time and ours.

Bring questions to the briefing. Clients often ask about typical timelines, how many review rounds to expect, and whether we work with existing agencies. We answer directly even when the answer is "it depends"—followed by the variables that matter.

After the call, we send a short summary email confirming what we understood and whether a proposal will follow. That record prevents misalignment before scope is drafted.

International clients are welcome. We conduct briefings across Singapore, ASEAN, and further afield by video. Time zones are accommodated where possible; early or late slots may be offered for West-bound or East-bound participants.

If you represent an agency introducing a mutual client, disclose that relationship in your first email. We coordinate channel roles openly to avoid duplicated effort or conflicting direction.
